About Hannover Airport (HAJ)

Driving directions:

From Hanover city centre, take the L190 northbound, and then merge onto Flughafenstrasse, which leads to the airport site. The total drive time from the city centre to the airport is approximately 30 minutes.

From the west or east, head along the A2, then turn onto either Autobahn A352 (if arriving from the west) or Flughafenstrasse (if arriving from the east).

Transfer between terminals:

The terminals are situated close together and are easily accessible on foot.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus:Bus 470 (tel: +49 511 16680; www.uestra.de) connects Hannover Airport with Langenhagen (fare: €3.40). Buses leave from the bus stop between the Maritim Airport hotel and car park 3, next to Terminal C.

Shuttle:24-hour door-to-door shuttle services are offered by several companies including ATH (tel: +49 511 2351 9335; www.athaj.de).

Taxi:Taxi stands are located at the entrance of the arrivals areas of each terminal (journey time to central Hanover: 20 minutes; fare: €30 approx.). Taxi providers include Flughafen Taxen (tel: +49 511 8500 6835; www.flughafentaxi-hannover.de).

Public transport rail:

Rail:S-Bahn (tel: +49 180 699 6633; www.bahn.de) suburban trains (line S5) depart from Hannover Airport's station (outside Terminal C) to the city's central railway station (journey time: 20 minutes; fare: €3.40). Terminal facilities

Money:

A branch of Sparkasse bank can be found in the departures area of Terminal B, and is open 24 hours a day. There is also a Travelex bank with an exchange office. Bureaux de change facilities are available in the arrivals and departures areas of Terminal B. ATMs can be found throughout the terminal buildings.

Food:

There is a good selection of cafés, bars and restaurants at Hannover Airport, with options in each terminal. These include a sports bar in Terminal C and a bakery in Terminal B.

Shopping:

Most shops at Hannover Airport are located on the departures level of the Airport Plaza, between Terminals A and B. However, there are other outlets within Terminal C and in the waiting lounges. Among the options are duty-free outlets (for travellers leaving the EU), tobacconists, gift shops and an electronics outlet.

Luggage:

Left-luggage and lost property enquiries are handled by the Airport Service Centre (tel: +49 511 9770) in the arrivals area of Terminal B. They can be collected at any time in exchange for a fee (maximum fee is €10.00).

Other:

Other facilities available at Hannover Airport include a children’s play area, located on the departures level of Terminal C, a pharmacy and a hairdressers.

Conference and business:

A number of event spaces are available within the airport complex, including the Skylight lounge on the airport's fifth floor. Paid-for lounges include the Karl Jatho Lounge (between Terminals A and B), and the Lufthansa Lounge for Star Alliance customers (Terminal A). Communication Facilities:

Wi-Fi internet access (free for the first 3 hours) is available throughout Hannover Langenhagen Airport. McDonald’s, the Marché Bakery and the Lufthansa Lounge also have free WLAN access. Additionally, there is an on-site post office within Hannover Airport and post boxes throughout the terminals.

Disabled facilities:

Wheelchair transportation is available on request from the Airport Service Centre (tel: +49 511 9770) and from airline ticket counters – passengers should inform their airline in advance of any special requirements. Lifts, disabled toilets, dedicated ‘pick-up points’ and accessible public telephones are located throughout Hannover Airport. There are numerous dedicated parking spaces for disabled visitors in car park P1 and P2.

Car parking:

There are multistorey car parks opposite each terminal, with short-term parking located directly opposite Terminals A and B. Long-term rates are available in P4-7, and the perimeter parking area; a free, daily shuttle bus service linking from these areas to the terminals is available 24 hours a day. Executive parking is available in car park P1 and must be reserved in advance. A further long-term car park, P10, is available further from the terminals during the summer months. Car rental:

Car hire companies represented at Hannover Airport include: Avis, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, and Sixt. Offices for these providers are located in the Car Hire Centre in the arrivals area, between Terminals A and B.
