About Luxembourg Airport (LUX)

Airport news:

There are plans to build a direct rail link connecting the airport with the city's central station, though there is no clear timeframe on when this facility will become operational. Check the airport’s official website (‘Access’ section) for the latest developments.

Driving directions:

The N1 main road runs from the city centre directly past the airport entrance. It is also served by exits 7 and 9 on the main A1 Brussels-Trier motorway.

Transfer between terminals:

A covered walkway connects the two terminals.

Public Transport

Bus: Bus 16 (Eurobus) runs every 10 to 15 minutes between Luxembourg Airport, the city centre and central railway station (journey time: 30 minutes; fare: €2). Buses 9 and 114 also link the airport to the city centre for the same fee. Bus 117 operates from the airport to Luxembourg City and also to Trier, across the border in Germany, with three afternoon departures on weekdays (journey time: 15 minutes; fare: €4). Taxi: Taxis are available from outside the main terminal building. The journey time to the city centre is about 15 minutes, and fares to central Luxembourg City start at around €30.

Public transport road:

Bus:Eurobus 16 (tel: +352 4796 2975) connects the airport and the city centre, departing every 10 minutes (fare: €2). Bus 29 and 117 also cover the same route (with some additional stops).

Terminal facilities

Money:

There are three ATMs in Luxembourg Airport, which are located on various levels of Terminal A. Bureau de change facilities are available in the check-in area.

Food:

There is a panoramic restaurant on the first floor (mezzanine level) overlooking the runway. It’s open to both passengers and visitors. There are also bars in Arrivals and the check-in area.

Shopping:

There is one shop landside, offering a range of luxury goods and food items. Airside, there is a fashion outlet, a giftware and accessories store, and another shop offering items such as perfumes, tobacco and alcohol. Duty-free is available for passengers travelling to destinations outside of the EU.

Luggage:

Queries about lost items of luggage within the terminal should be directed to the airport police (tel: +352 2440 8900) or to the airline concerned.

Other:

Other facilities at Luxembourg Airport include nurseries and a smoking area.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

There is a lounge for business-class passengers, offering snacks and newspapers. Additionally, two small meeting rooms are available for hire in the main terminal building (for details email: meeting@lux-airport.lu).

Meeting facilities are also available at the nearby 0 (tel: +352 340 571; www.nh-hotels.com). The Luxexpo Exhibition and Congress Centre (tel: +352 43991; www.luxexpo.lu) is also close to Luxembourg Airport.

Communication Facilities:

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Luxembourg-Findel Airport. Two internet-enabled computer terminals are also located in the airport, one in the public departure hall and the other in the boarding area. Public telephones can be found at various points within the terminal building.

Disabled facilities:

Designated disabled parking spaces are available in car park C and in the underground car parks A and B. The terminal building is fully accessible, and includes lifts and disabled toilet facilities. Passengers should contact their airline or tour operator in advance of travel for special assistance.

Car parking:

Two main car parking areas (car parks A and B) are located immediately outside and beneath the main terminal building, offering long- and short-term spaces. The first 30 minutes is free of charge. There is also a special parking area for passenger drop-off (car park C).

Car rental:

Car hire companies represented at Luxembourg Airport include: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and Thrifty. Desks are located in Arrivals, after baggage claim, and the rental car pick-up/drop-off area is on level -1 of car park A.
