Tenerife Sur Airport – previously known as Tenerife South-Reina Sofia Airport – is the largest international airport on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Our guide to the airport provides contact details as well as information on terminal facilities, public transport and nearby hotels.

Information:

There are two information desks at Tenerife Sur Airport; these are located in the central hall opposite Arrivals and Departures. The information desks can provide passengers with assistance concerning flight enquiries, airport information and lost property. There is also an official Tenerife tourism information desk (tel: +34 922 392 037) in the Arrivals area, open Mon-Fri, 0900-1900, Sat & Sun, 0900-1700.

Driving directions:

Tenerife Sur Airport is close to the TF1 Autopista del Sur motorway, which links Santa Cruz with the south of the island. It has its own dedicated exit from the motorway.

From Santa Cruz, head southbound on the TF1. After around 60km (37 miles), turn off onto the airport access road.

From Playa de las Américas, join the TF1 and head eastbound. After 15-20km (10-12 miles), turn off the motorway onto the airport access road.

The total drive time from Santa Cruz to the airport is approximately 50 minutes.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus:  Local buses (tel: +34 922 531 300;www.titsa.com) leave regularly from outside Arrivals at Tenerife South Airport. Bus 111 links the airport with Santa Cruz; bus 343 serves Puerto de la Cruz and the island's North Airport; while bus 450 links Tenerife South Airport to Playa de las Américas and the town of Granadilla.

Shuttle:  Many tour operators and large hotels include transfers in their packages. Shared shuttle services are also available.

Taxi:  Taxis (tel: +34 922 397 074) are available from in front of Arrivals, going to Santa Cruz, Playa de las Américas and other island destinations.

Terminal facilities

Money:

There is a bank on the ground floor of the terminal building – ATMs are also available at various points. A bureau de change kiosk is situated in the airport lobby, opposite Arrivals.

Food:

A small selection of restaurants, bars, cafés and fast-food outlets is available before and after the security screening area. Among them are a couple of tapas restaurants, in the public and boarding areas, open 24 hours.

Shopping:

There is a good choice of shops at Tenerife Sur Airport, ranging from bookshop/newsagents and gift shops to fashion boutiques and electronic gadgets outlets. Duty-free is available at outlets before and after the security area.

Luggage:

For queries regarding items misplaced within the airport, contact the lost property department (tel: +34 922 759 785, 24 hours) in the arrivals hall on the ground floor.

Other:

Among the other facilities at Tenerife Sur Airport are travel agencies, a chapel, pharmacy, children's play area and a 24-hour medical centre.

Conference and business:

The airport's Aena Lounge (tel: +34 922 759 229) can be hired for business meetings, while a conference room in the public departures area is also available for bookings.

Communication Facilities:

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Tenerife Sur Airport; fixed internet terminals are also available in the boarding area of Departures. Public telephones are available throughout the terminal. The on-site post office is located in the public area of Departures.

Disabled facilities:

The airport is wheelchair accessible and there are lifts to take passengers to the upper level. Telephones, restaurants and toilets are all physically accessible, and facilities to assist disabled passengers transiting from the aircraft to the terminal are available (tel: +34 91 321 1000). Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline in advance of travel.

Car parking:

There are more than 800 car parking spaces at Tenerife Sur Airport. Short- and long-term parking is situated just across the road from the terminal building, near the bus stops and taxi rank.

Car hire companies represented at Tenerife Sur Airport include: Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and a number of local operators. Desks for these companies are located in the central hall.
