A stunning colonial-style hotel in Hanoi, built next to the Opera House in the French Quarter, with excellent facilities including Vietnamese, Japanese and international restaurants, bars, a swimming pool and conference facilities. The rooms are large and chic with a hint of Vietnamese style. A short walk from the Old Quarter, the open-air bar of the hotel's Ba Mien restaurant is a popular place to relax after a day's sightseeing.
InterContinental Hanoi Westlake
This is one of the best 5-star business hotels in Hanoi, built entirely over the West Lake, featuring large rooms, restaurants and bars, business and conference facilities, swimming pool and spa facilities. The hotel's Vietnamese, Italian and French restaurants all have good reputations. Rooms overlook the lake or the Hanoi skyline and are stylishly Vietnamese.
Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi
This is still the place to stay in Hanoi – if you have the budget. Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is an old colonial hotel steeped in history, featuring three excellent restaurants (Vietnamese, French and Italian), bars, business centre, swimming pool and fitness centre. Rooms in the historical Metropole Wing have maintained the original features, including wooden floors, while the Opera Wing has rooms designed in classic French style.
Flower Garden Hotel
This stylish Hanoi hotel offers large, bright rooms decorated in Vietnamese style with wooden floors. The hotel has two restaurants serving Western and a fusion of Asian food, one being on the top floor with great views across the city. With a fitness centre and spa, including a sauna and Jacuzzi, the friendly Flower Garden Hotel is a good base in Hanoi, located on the edge of the Old Quarter with views of the Red River.
Maison d'Hanoi Hanova Hotel
The narrow entrance is barely noticeable, but this boutique hotel has made a big impact on the Hanoi hotel scene with its stylish combination of colonial and art deco designs. Located in the Old Quarter, it is within walking distance of Hoan Kiem Lake and is an ideal base for exploring the area. With its own restaurant and spa, this is a real find in an excellent location.
Zéphyr Hotel
The Zéphyr Hotel is a good-value hotel in Hanoi, well located right by Hoan Kiem Lake and within walking distance of the Old Quarter. The rooms are smart and of a good standard, and it has its own restaurant serving Vietnamese and Western cuisine. The rooftop bar, with panoramic views across the city, is a great place for a drink after a busy day sightseeing.
Boss Hotel
A modern, friendly hotel in Hanoi, ideally located close to Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter, with spacious rooms and excellent facilities. Rooms even have their own personal computer and there is Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Boss Hotel has its own restaurant serving a good selection of Vietnamese and Western meals, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Guests staying three nights are given a free one-way airport transfer.
Hoa Binh Hotel
A consistently popular choice on the Hanoi hotel scene, the Hoa Binh is a renovated colonial hotel, dating from 1926, with 103 rooms and Vietnamese and French restaurants, located within walking distance of Hoan Kiem Lake. The rooms are all large and comfortable with good facilities for a 3-star hotel, and there is Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
La Dolce Vita
Located in the heart of the Old Quarter, this is a good base for a visit to the city without breaking the bank. The rooms are large, bright and comfortable, decorated in Vietnamese style and with good facilities. The hotel's restaurant and lobby bar serve Vietnamese and Western food. Wi-Fi in the lobby and internet access in the rooms is free to all hotel guests.
