Airport news:
Bengaluru International Airport opened on the 24 May 2008, taking over all commercial flights operating out of Bangalore International Airport. Plans were unveiled in 2010 for an expansion of the current terminal facility. A high-speed electric train is also planned to connect the airport with the city, but no date of completion has been announced. A new express toll road is also planned to connect the airport to the city's ring road at Hennur.

Information counters are located in the arrivals hall and outside the terminal building. They are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Bengaluru International Airport is located east of the Bengaluru-Hyderabad national highway (NH7).
Public Transport
Public transport road:
Bus: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (tel: (80) 2760 7989 ; www.bmtcinfo.com) operates an airport shuttle service connecting various locations in the city to Bengaluru International Airport. Shuttles on each of the nine routes run at least once every 30 minutes.
Taxi: Easycabs (tel: (80) 4343 4343), Karnataka Taxi (tel: (80) 4346 4346) and Meru (tel: (80) 4422 4422) operate taxis from the designated taxi area and in front of the terminal building.
Terminal facilities
Money:
There are ATMs on both the ground and first floors and bureaux de change on the first floor of the terminal building.
Communication:
A postal service is located on the ground floor and free Wi-Fi Internet access is also available at Bengaluru International Airport.
Food:
Several cafés and restaurants are located within the terminal building.
Shopping:
There is a large duty-free outlet in the international departures area. Domestic Departures also has several shops selling books, electronics, clothing and crafts.
Luggage:
A porter service is available.
Other:
There are two baby care rooms; one on each floor.
Airport facilities
Conference and business:
There are a number of executive lounges with Wi-Fi Internet access and shower facilities.
Disabled facilities:
Travellers requiring special assistance should contact their airline prior to departure. Bengaluru International Airport is fully accessible, with lifts and disabled toilets.
Car parking:
There is a car park for 2,000 cars in front of the terminal building at the ground level. All long-term and short-term parking areas are within 200m (220 yards) of the terminal building.
