Wat's the fuss about?

Palaces and pagodas

Phnom Penh lies on the confluence of three rivers and retains its beautiful French-colonial architecture from its days as one of Indochina's seats of French government and is now a city constantly reinventing itself. Phnom Penh is an atmospheric city and is home to the sublime Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda, and also a recent tragic history. The Khmer Rouge devastated the city during the 1970s and although the past is remembered at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the population of Phnom Penh is looking towards the future - new industry, fantastic restaurants and innovative art galleries abound in the city today. Seek out the south

In Cambodia's south is Sihanoukville, fast becoming a popular beach destination for travellers from all over the world. Sihanoukville's unspoilt beauty has been likened to the Thailand of 20 years ago, and was recently featured in a poll as one of the best beaches in all of Asia. Enjoy fresh seafood, white sand and crystal clear water whilst staying in a converted villa right on the beach.
