Public Transport
Bus: Bus 6, run by SOTRA (tel: 2175 7100; www.sotra.ci), operates between Abidjan Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport and central Abidjan, the fare is XOF 200 and the journey takes around 25 minutes. However, the bus is considered by some foreign authorities to be an unsafe option and is best avoided.
Taxi: Travellers are advised to choose orange taxis with an official fare display. The journey time into the city is 20-30 minutes, and fares start from around XOF1500.
Terminal facilities
A bank offering a currency exchange service is located at the airport. There is also an ATM in the public area, but the service can be erratic.
There is a post office in the public area. The Phone Shop hires mobile phones and sells public phone cards. Fax, email and internet services are also available.
A bar and a brasserie are situated before security, while a restaurant serving international and local cuisine can be found in the duty-free centre.
Several shops, including a pharmacy, bookshop and a duty-free outlet (in the international terminal), are located on site.
Left-luggage storage is available and porters are on hand to help with luggage in the arrival and departure areas.
Airport facilities
Fax and email services are available from the on-site Phone Shop. There is a VIP lounge but no business or conference facilities at Abidjan Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport. Conference and meeting facilities can be found at the larger hotels in the city centre.
Car hire companies located at Abidjan Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport include Avis, Budget, Europcar and Hertz. Offices for these operators are situated outside the international terminal.
