Things to do in Las Vegas
Situated 147km (91 miles), less than a 90-minute drive east of Las Vegas, are the sandy shores of Big Bend State Park. Locals come here to boat, camp and take in a picnic lunch. The park is 1.6km (1 mile) east of the town of Laughlin, which features year-round festivals as well as several casinos. The park can be reached on the Needles Highway from Laughlin. Dedicated in 1935, Valley of Fire State Park is Nevada's oldest and largest state park. It offers beautiful scenery of red sandstone formations, the beauty of the Mojave Desert and 3,000-year-old Indian petroglyphs. Situated 88km (55 miles) northeast of Las Vegas, and only 10km (6 miles) from Lake Mead, it is accessible from Interstate 15, exit 75.

Badger Pass Mountain Bike Loop is a medium difficulty 6-mile (4km) loop at Cottonwood Valley. There is a certain amount of tricky maneuvering and some moderate climbing, but nothing too extreme. You’re rewarded with some great views of the surrounding desert at Badger Pass. Park at the Late Night parking lot, off State 160, about 41Z2 miles west of intersection with State 159; head south under highway via the tunnel.
Las Vegas has several highly-regarded courses, many of which are just a few minutes’ drive from Downtown or the Strip. The best include The Falls Golf Club (Lake Las Vegas), The Wolf Course (Paiute Resort), Bali High Golf Club and Royal Links Golf Club.
You may have to spend a little time looking for Big Falls, but this is widely thought to be the most stunning waterfall in the Spring Mountains. The path winds in and out among scattered boulders offering great terrain for experienced hikers and climbers, but do watch out during summertime thunderstorms as it can be a flood zone.

Situated west of the Las Vegas Strip, Bonnie Springs Ranch lies inside the Red Rock Conservation area. This is a fun place to bring the family, and smaller children will love the petting zoo. The horse-riding trails offer picturesque views of Red Rock conservation areas.
