Where to stay in Latvia

Dozens of hostels can be found across Latvia, some of which are members of Hostelling International. Facilities vary, with accommodation typically provided in dormitories, although some double, triple and quadruple bedrooms are available. Farm holidays and self-catering cottages (often Alpine-style chalets) are available in the countryside. This is a particularly good option for visitors to Latgale, where you can nestle among forest and/or enjoy a lakeside location. Some cottages have their own saunas. Self-catering apartments are readily available in Riga and can often be hired by the night, as well as longer term. Rooms in pensions and guesthouses are available elsewhere.
