Restaurants in Lille
The restaurants below have been grouped into three pricing categories:
Expensive (over €75)
Moderate (€25 to €75)
Cheap (up to €25)
These prices are for a three-course meal for one, including taxes and tip but not drinks.
Please note that most restaurants in Lille are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so call ahead to check.
L'Ecume des Mers
This restaurant specialises in seafood and fish. The monkfish with tarragon cream is excellent, and so is the aioli cod. Service can be a bit hit and miss. Good for business meetings, though, as there are several rooms for private dining.
La Cave aux Fioles
La Cave aux Fioles is set in a romantic medieval building with a lovely décor (read bricks and beams, red upholstery and antique furniture). There is also an inner courtyard and jazz bar. The menu is strong on meat and Flemish specialities.
Estaminet'T Rijsel
This cosy, rustic Flemish pub looks as if it hasn't changed in centuries. The great atmosphere might explain why the place is always packed. Try the poulet au maroilles (roast chicken smothered in a local cheese), the house speciality. Closed Sunday.
Crêperie Beaurepaire
One of several good crêperies in Lille, this one has the added advantage of having a pleasant courtyard, ideal in summer. Good selection of savoury and sweet galettes and crêpes, and excellent Breton cider served in traditional bolée (cup).
A l'Huitrière
Housed in a historic venue with stunning art deco dining room, this restaurant offers a creative take on Flemish recipes. Black tie waiters deliver impeccable service and a sommelier is on hand to help with the extensive wine list.
