There shouldn't be a stag or hen in sight at the dark-red, intimate Magnet, which offers regular live music. Situated in the Cultural Quarter, the venue has an illustrious musical history and was once graced by Freddie Mercury and Brian May. The Ship & Mitre

Beer enthusiasts should check out the The Ship & Mitre. Housed within one of the city's few remaining art deco buildings, it is thought that a pub has existed on the site for at least 120 years. Cavern Club

The city is synonymous with live music acts and many visitors to Liverpool head to the famous Cavern Club on Mathew Street, actually a replica built on the same site, due to its association with the Beatles.
