Ljubljana history
Ljubljana was shackled under the confines of Yugoslavia from WWII right through to 1991, a period which still colours the city today. Delving further back, it also bears the stamp of the Austrian-Hungarians who once held sway over the city and even further back to the Romans, who knew the city as Emona.
