Shopping in Malaga
Shopping in Málaga offers everything from markets to modern malls.
Smart pedestrianised Calle Marqués de Larios is Málaga's main shopping street, lined with chic national and international brand name stores. Málaga is also known for its ceramics - try Alfajar, Calle Cister 13, for modern and traditional pieces.
For the freshest food (and a small selection of crafts) in robust atmospheric surroundings, visit the daily market, Mercado Atarazanas, once a Moorish ship repair yard and still boasting an original horseshoe archway.
You can find more of the same under one roof at the Málaga branch of El Corte Inglés, Avenida Andalucía 4-6, which also has a good supermarket, handy for speciality food souvenirs.
Traditional shop opening times are Monday to Saturday 1000-1400 and around 1700-2000 but several shops remain open throughout the siesta.
