Malé Ibrahim Nasir International Airport is located on Hulhulé island, about 2.5km (1.5 miles) northeast of Malé.

In 2011, the airport was renamed in honour of the late Ibrahim Nasir, the second President of the Maldives, who was largely responsible for initiating the airport's construction in the 1960s.
The airport information desk (tel: 332 5511) is located in the departure area of the terminal. A tourist information counter is available in the arrival area of the terminal.
Malé Ibrahim Nasir International Airport is not accessible by road.
Public Transport
Seaplane: Maldivian Air Taxi (tel: 331 5201; www.maldivianairtaxi.com) and Trans Maldivian Airways (tel: 334 8400; www.tma.com.mv) are seaplane operators offering transfers between Malé Ibrahim Nasir International Airport and their various destinations in the Maldives.
Ferry: A 24-hour ferry service provides transfers from Malé Ibrahim Nasir International Airport to Malé city (journey time: approximately 10 minutes; fare MRf10) or to various resort islands in the area. Taxis are available where the ferry arrives in Malé.
Terminal facilities
A branch of the Bank of Maldives is located by the exit in the arrival terminal. It offers a foreign currency exchange service.
A post office is located near the entrance to the departures hall. International and local phone calls can be made from the cash and credit card phones in the terminal building. Wireless internet access is available, but for those who do not have wireless connectivity there are internet stations and laptop connection at the Chiraagu Airport Cyber Café.
Excellent restaurants and self-service cafeterias are located on the ground floor and first floor of the passenger terminal.
The duty-free shops on the first floor in the departure area offer a wide range of goods such as cigarettes, alcohol, perfumes, cosmetics, books, stationery, clothing, toys, electronics, confectionery, flowers and souvenirs. Souvenir shops are located in the departure and transit lounges. A flower shop can be found opposite the post office.
A 24-hour lost and found counter can be found in the security office in the departure lounge.
Malé Ibrahim Nasir International Airport has shower rooms for use by travellers. A health care centre for first aid and minor health emergencies is available at the terminal building. The airport's pharmacy is located just outside the first aid office, next to the Bank of Maldives airport branch.
A special care service is available for expectant mothers and newly born babies. An outdoor children's play park and a play area in the transit area are available.
There is a prayer room on the first floor of the departure terminal. Two fully air-conditioned mosques are located a short walk from the terminal building.
Airport facilities
There are two Plaza Premium business lounges (tel: 333 7335/ 7348) located in the departures area. These are equipped with satellite TV, internet access, telephones and a fax machines. Refreshments are also available. Meeting and conference rooms are available at the nearby Hulhulé Island Hotel (tel: 333 0888; www.hih.com.mv).
Lifts and toilets are adjusted to meet the needs of people with physical disabilities. Wheelchairs are available.
There is no car parking at Malé Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.
Car hire is not available, but taxis operate in Malé city.
Airport hotels
Linked to the airport by a complimentary shuttle service, this beachside hotel has 136 rooms, all with Indian Ocean views. It offers a good range of restaurants and bars, a spa facility, and meeting and function rooms.
