Hotels in Malta
There is a huge selection of hotels in Malta catering for every budget. The majority are clustered around St Julian's, Sliema, St Paul's Bay, St George’s Bay and Bugibba. There are several in Valletta. For further information, contact the Malta Tourist Office.
Grading: Gradings range from 2 to 5 stars, indicating the level of standards, facilities and services offered by the hotel.
Guest houses (www.visitmalta.com/guesthouses_malta) are divided into standard class and comfort class.
The main camp site (www.maltacampsite.com) is located at Dahlet ix-Xmajjar, near the White Tower, Mellieha. In addition to tent pitches and a swimming pool, furnished tents and mobile homes can also be hired.
Villa Francas: These rustic villas and farmhouses are usually occupied by families or groups consisting of four people or more. They are often available with private swimming pool and sometimes include cleaning services.
Youth Hostels: There are 10 hostels in Malta, and one youth hostel in Gozo. A minimum of two hostels are open at any time of the year.
Self-catering: There are a huge number of self-catering apartments particularly in the popular holiday resorts of Bugibba, Qawra, Paceville and St Paul’s Bay.
Tourist Villages: There are two tourist villages at Mellieha Bay and St Paul
