Best time to visit:

Montenegro has a Mediterranean climate on the coast, with alpine conditions in the mountains. The average summer coastal temperature is 27°C (81°F).

Required clothing:

In winter, mediumweight clothing and heavy overcoat if travelling in the mountains; in summer, lightweight clothing required.

Geography

Montenegro is a small mountainous region on the Adriatic coast north of Albania, bordering Bosnia & Herzegovina to the west, Serbia to the east and Albania to the south. Its small Adriatic coastline comprises the main ports of Bar and those in the Gulf of Kotor.
