Hotels in Mumbai

There's a bed to suit most wallets in Mumbai although far more catering to those with cash to spare than those counting their rupees. The most expensive hotels quote their prices in US Dollars; only resident Indian nationals are permitted to pay in Rupees and often the quoted Dollar rate is considerably more than its equivalent in Rupees. Less expensive establishments quote their prices in Rupees. There are various local taxes that apply to hotel room rates and whether these are included in the stated rate or added onto the bill depends on the hotel. Generally, the more modest establishments attract a lower rate of tax. Visitors are strongly advised to check what taxes apply when making a reservation.

The hotels below have been classed into three pricing categories:
Luxury (over US$200)
Moderate (US$60 to US$200)
Cheap (up to US$60)
These are starting prices for a standard double room, excluding local taxes and breakfast, unless otherwise specified. All hotels listed have air conditioning.
