Hotels in Naples
Naples is one of Italy’s premiere tourist destinations and as such has a varied and plentiful range of accommodation. Most of the large, luxury hotels line the seafront while cheaper, more individual B&B’s and charming small hotels are usually located within the narrow alleys of the historic centre.
The Naples hotels below have been grouped into three pricing categories:
Luxury (over €250)
Moderate (€100 to €250)
Cheap (up to €100)
These Naples hotel prices are for a double room per night and include all taxes and breakfast, unless otherwise indicated.
Grand Hotel Parkers
One of the finest hotels in Naples, the Grand Hotel Parkers has 71 luxuriously appointed rooms along with a spa, a beauty salon, restaurant and the exclusive atmosphere of an historical palace. It is decorated with Belle Epoque-style frescoes and paintings, and Armani-clad guests lounge in the foyer in gilt Louis XVI chairs or on the stunning sea-view terrace.
Grand Hotel Vesuvio
The Grand Hotel Vesuvio is one of the leading luxury hotels in Naples renowned for hosting millionaires and screen legends. Appropriately, the refined public spaces drip with twinkling chandeliers and are furnished with period antiques. There are two fine restaurants, the gorgeous Caruso Roof Garden and the Verdi Restaurant.
Romeo Hotel
Eschewing the Baroque extravagance of other luxury hotels, the new Romeo Hotel in Naples is a temple of modernist design. The striking steel-and-glass exterior encases soothing minimalist interiors of marble, wood, stone and steel. The rooftop restaurant and pool include one of Naples’ few sushi bars and there’s a seriously sexy modern spa.
Hotel San Francesco al Monte
Housed in a 16th-century monastery with stunning views of Vesuvius, San Francesco al Monte is the most historic hotel in Naples. Original remnants of the monastery have been carefully preserved, such as the frescoed dining room, antique majolica tiling and paving and even the monks bread oven. Monastic cells have been converted into tasteful period-style rooms. Best of all though is the rooftop garden and pool with its 360-degree views over Naples.
Palazzo Alabardieri
This elegant Naples hotel was reconstructed from a palace in 1870. The décor is typical of its provenance and the grand salons are decorated with rich details such as shining marble floors, ornate plasterwork and lofty barrel-vaulted ceilings. The 33 air-conditioned rooms, all with Wi-Fi, sport the same classic styling, queen-sized beds and sumptuous marble bathrooms.
Port Alba Relais
Calling all book-lovers, Port Alba Relais houses a wonderful library with sections dedicated to the city’s art, music and history and a book swapping section for literary guests. Wood-beamed rooms are dedicated to literary genres (romance, drama, mystery) and are furnished with taste with designer bedding and accessories from Mario Bottiglieri. It’s also super central with some rooms overlooking the buzzing Piazza Dante.
Cerasiello
Located on the top floor of a townhouse a short walk from the historic centre, this stylish B&B has been renovated by two local architects. There are four spacious rooms each individually styled with an eclectic mix of North African and Neapolitan art. The communal terrace, where breakfast is served, overlooks the museum of Certosa di San Martino.
Chiaja Hotel de Charme
The Chiaja Hotel de Charme, is a charming small hotel indeed. Situated within the restored residence of a marquis, it exudes an elegant atmosphere. The owners have recreated a period feel with restored architectural details like the marble fireplaces and grand staircase and decorative touches like the gilt-framed portraits and antique furnishings. What’s more, if you step out the front door you’ll find yourself of Naples’ premiere shopping street.
Hotel Il Convento
Located next to the Convent of Santa Maria Francesca in the city centre, Hotel Il Convento offers 14 air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV. Ten of the rooms have bathtub and shower, while four have only shower. The hotel offers basic, affordable accommodation in a convenient location.
