Hotels in Newcastle

County Hotel
This attractive hotel (formerly known as Thistle Newcastle) is located in a 19th-century listed building opposite the station in the centre of town and within easy walking distance of Central Station. The 115 sympathetically restored rooms are light and airy and there is a good bar and restaurant. There are eight meeting rooms - the largest seats 180 people, theatre-style.
Express by Holiday Inn
This modern hotel features 130 comfortable bedrooms with satellite TV and in-room movies, modem point and direct dial telephone. There are two meeting rooms with high-speed Internet connections. The hotel also has a fully-licensed bar.
Grey Street Hotel
Situated within a converted bank on historic Grey Street in the heart of the city, the Grey Street Hotel was Newcastle's first boutique hotel when it opened in 2004. Each room oozes luxury, charm and character, and downstairs there is the excellent 24-hour Cellar Bar as well as the Living Room Restaurant.
Hilton Newcastle Gateshead Hotel
The huge 254-room Hilton enjoys a superb riverside location 10 minutes from the city centre and close to the Baltic, the Sage Gateshead and the Millennium Bridge. Facilities at the hotel include a gym, swimming pool, spa and sauna, but the real draw card is the stunning panoramic views of the quayside area. Excellent value off season.
Hotel du Vin & Bistro
The former home of the Tyne Tees Steam Shipping Company has been converted into a 42-room property offering monsoon-style showers, plasma TVs and breathtaking river views.
Jesmond Dene House
This luxury boutique hotel occupies a striking Arts and Crafts 19th-century mansion, surrounded by leafy woodland. From the underfloor heating in the bathrooms to the exquisite design of each room, every last detail has been considered to retain the charm and atmosphere of a manor house.
Malmaison
