Mystery Illness Kills 17 in China

A mystery bug has so far killed 17 farmers in the rural province of Sichuan in Western China which officials have said is not Sars or bird flu. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has reassured people in the region that the unidentified disease cannot transmit between humans. Health officials are travelling through the many rural villages of the province seeking out people with symptoms. It’s thought that the illness could be linked to infected pork.
