FCO Revises Travel Advice For Turkey

(12 May 2005)

The Foreign Office (FCO) has reviewed and reissued its travel advice for Turkey stating that there is a high threat of terrorism in Turkey. There were two major bomb attacks in Istanbul in November 2003 which claimed 56 lives and injured hundreds more. There have been sporadic terrorist attacks on a lesser scale since those attacks in 2003 and visitors are warned to be aware of the risk of indiscriminate attacks.
