Tourists killed in Peru plane crash

(10 April 2008)

Five French tourists have been killed after their plane crashed in southern Peru.

The Cessna aircraft became tangled in power lines while on a flight over the famous Nazca Lines.

The lines, known as geoglyphs, were etched in the desert floor between 200BC and AD600.

Reports say the pilot has survived and is being treated in hospital.
