Rising prices for UK tourists

(24 April 2008)

The strength of the Euro against the Pound will increase holiday costs for Brits travelling to Europe this summer.

It is predicted that the soaring Euro may add as much as £200 to a standard two-week holiday.

Analysts expect to see a rise in bookings to destinations outside the Eurozone that offer a more favourable exchange rate such as Turkey and Eastern Europe.

Prices in the US are on par with this time last year because the ratio of the Pound to the Dollar has remained fairly constant.
