Customers prefer easyJet
(26 June 2008)Passengers who fly easyJet are more satisfied than those who fly with Ryanair according to a survey of over 30,000 Which? members.
Ryanair's overall customer satisfaction score was 47%, compared to 59% for easyJet, which received reasonable scores for the helpfulness and efficiency of cabin staff, cleanliness of planes and how delays were dealt with – Ryanair was rated poorly in all of these areas. Both airlines were rated poorly for food, comfort and pre-flight arrangements.
Neither of these famous no-frills airlines scored top marks for value for money – the best of the full-service carriers scored as well or better. Nonetheless, Germanwings and Wizz Air, two European budget airlines, both scored highly despite their no-frills approach.
Singapore Airlines came first in the long-haul category, with Air New Zealand and Jet Airways also getting strong ratings for customer satisfaction.
