30 injured in Qantas turbulence

(08 October 2008)

Over 30 people were injured yesterday when a Qantas plane flying from Singapore to Perth hit turbulence.

The flight had to make an emergency landing at a remote Australian airport in Learmonth, which is usually only used by oil and gas companies.

The Australian air transport safety bureau said that “early reports indicate that three cabin crew and approximately 30 passengers sustained injuries, including about 15 with serious injuries.”
