Sick woman causes diversion

(09 October 2008)

A flight from Belfast to the United States was diverted on Wednesday after an elderly passenger fell ill.

The Continental Airlines flight CO95 travelling to Newark Liberty International airport had to land prematurely at Keflavik airport, Iceland.

The elderly traveller was suffering from a low pulse and oxygen had to be administered until the plane landed.

After the sick passenger was removed, the flight continued its journey to the US.
