Bomb blasts in southern Thailand injure 60

(04 November 2008)

Three bomb blasts in southern Thailand have injured over 60 people, according to reports from police.

The explosions occurred close to a local government office in the state of Narathiwat. Police believe suspected separatist insurgents to be responsible.

Narathiwat is one of the states most affected by an insurgency in Thailand's Muslim majority south. More than 2,700 people have been killed since 2004.
