Ryanair adds new London Gatwick routes

(18 November 2008)

Ryanair starts flying from London Gatwick to mainland Europe today.

Previously Ryanair only flew to three destinations in Ireland from London Gatwick, but will now fly to Alicante twice daily and Barcelona's Girona Airport daily.

The move is being seen as a direct shot at Ryanair's main rival budget airline, easyJet, which bases 35 of its aircraft at London Gatwick.
