Tourists in India pay £150 for four samosas
(19 November 2008)A Dutch couple holidaying in India were left considerably poorer after being charged £150 for four samosas.
The couple were visiting Sonepur in the eastern state of Bihar where they bought the deep-fried snacks from a stall at a local fair.
The stall holder claimed the samosas had 'special' powers and aphrodisiac qualities. However, the local police disagreed and made the vendor pay the tourists change.
