Bangkok airports still closed
(01 December 2008)Both Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports remain closed as anti-government group the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) reach their sixth day of occupation.
A number of international carriers, including THAI International and Singapore Airlines, are operating limited flights from Utapao Airport near Pattaya.
37 of 88 aircraft trapped at Suvarnabhumi have left the airport with no passengers.
Russia, France and Spain have chartered flights to evacuate their nationals but 5,000 Brits remain stranded as Bill Rammell, the Foreign Office minister says evacuation is not the answer.
The protesters refuse to leave the airports until the government resigns.
