Delays at Edinburgh Airport after heavy snowfall

(19 January 2009)

Travellers are being warned of delays at Edinburgh Airport after heavy snow led to the runway being closed for almost two hours.

Following the closure at 1130 today (19 January), three inbound planes were diverted to Glasgow Airport and seven other aircraft were unable to take off.

The runway reopened at 1310 and the airport is now operating as normal, but a number of outbound services have been delayed.
