Cruise struck by norovirus is cancelled
(08 July 2009)The Marco Polo cruise liner will not continue its tour of the British Isles following a suspected norovirus outbreak.
The ship, which has more than 150 passengers showing symptoms of the vomiting bug, will finish its voyage in the Scottish town Invergordon, where it is currently docked.
Holidaymakers are being treated on board, with five being treated in hospital.
Passenger Roy Sillett, 74, from Norwich, died yesterday following a heart attack. His death is thought to be unrelated to the norovirus outbreak.
