Love is in the air with world's first Matchmaking Flight

(13 July 2009)

Air New Zealand is set to operate the world's first Matchmaking Flight.

The journey on 13 October from Los Angeles, USA, to Auckland, New Zealand, will see Jason Mesnick, former star of US TV program The Bachelor, and his girlfriend Molly Malaney play hosts to passengers for the duration of the flight.

Singles wanting to take part will have to pay US$580 for the experience, which includes a party at the LA departure gate, as well as matchmaking advice, an open bar and speed dating during the flight.

Once on the ground in Auckland, travellers are invited to the Great Matchmaking Ball at SKYCITY Convention Centre, where they can meet single New Zealanders.

"Jason and Molly know something about finding the right match, and we're hoping they can share this with the singles on Air New Zealand's matchmaking flight," said Roger Poulton, vice president of Air New Zealand.
