Speeding fines to follow UK holidaymakers home

(29 September 2009)

Britons will no longer get away with breaking speeding laws in other European countries.

From this Thursday (October 1) a new EU pact means that holidaymakers from the UK will now be tracked back home and forced to pay fines above €70.

The Sparks Network aims to resolve pan-European traffic disputes, both for UK holidaymakers failing to pay parking and speeding tickets abroad, as well as foreign nationals who fail to pay their fines in the UK.
