First Hotel Millennium

Opened in 1998, but behind a 1930s facade, this hotel stands a few minutes' walk from the city centre. Its 112 rooms are finished in Scandinavian style with wooden floors. Family rooms have separate bedroom and parlour, and from the higher floors guests can enjoy excellent views across Oslo from the large balconies. Restaurant, bar and parking.

Grand Hotel

Opened in 1874 by a local pastry chef, the Grand Hotel is architecturally the most elegant hotel in central Oslo. With 289 rooms and suites and a choice of five restaurants and bars, the Grand is located on Karl Johans Gate close to the parliament building and the Royal Palace. Rica Hotel Bygdøy Allé

Rica Hotel Bygdøy Allé is a beautiful, historic hotel situated within walking distance of Oslo's main tourist attraction, the sculptures by Vigeland in Frongnerparken. Clarion Hotel Royal Christiania

Opened in 1952 to coincided with Oslo's hosting of the Winter Olympics, the Royal is also located close to Oslo Central Station, conveniently situated for all the main city centre attractions and facilities. It has 503 rooms, restaurant, bar, swimming pool and conference facilities. Covered parking is also available. The hotel was extensively rebuilt and refurbished in the early 1990s.

Art Bed and Breakfast

A rather different sort of accommodation is offered here, aboard the MS Innvik , a large vessel permanently moored at Langkaia, about halfway between the Central Station and the Castle. The ship also has a theatre aboard, with regular performances. Cabins are small, but have capacity for two people. There is a cafe, and breakfast is available on board for an extra charge.
