Passports:
A passport valid for at least 120 days beyond the date of entry required by all nationals referred to in the chart above to enter the Federated States of Micronesia, except nationals of the USA with acceptable documentation (birth certificate or entry permit issued by Micronesia), if no passport is available.
Passport note:
All visitors to the Federated States of Micronesia require proof of adequate funds and return/onward tickets.
All persons, including US citizens, travelling by air, land and sea to and from the USA are required to present a valid passport or other approved document when entering or re-entering the USA.

Visas:
Visas are not required by nationals referred to in the chart above (1) for visits of up to 30 days.
For longer stays and for all visits other than touristic visits, an entry permit is required, and should be obtained prior to travel or arrival.
Nationals of the USA (2) may stay for one year without an entry permit, if visiting as tourists.
Note: Nationals not referred to in the chart are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements for the Federated States of Micronesia.
Types and cost:
Entry Permit: cost on application.
Validity:
Normally up to an additional 30 days; this may be extended to 60 days.
Nationals of the USA may apply for an extension of one year's duration.
