Hotels in Riga
There is a wide choice of hotels in Riga to choose from and thanks to the fact the country is outside of the eurozone, there are plenty of cheap hotels to find in the city too. Hotels range from international-standard chains to more atmospheric properties in the heart of the old town.
Riga's hotels below have been classed into three different pricing categories:
Expensive (over Ls100)
Moderate (Ls50 to Ls100)
Cheap (up to Ls50)
The above prices are for a double room per night and include taxes and breakfast, unless otherwise stated.
Centra
This funky boutique hotel in Riga is a stylish option handily located between the old town and the bus and railway stations. The 26 minimalist rooms are stylishly decorated and all have satellite TV and Internet connections. Some of the rooms on the upper levels also boast good views of the old town.
Domina
The latest offering from this rapidly growing hotel chain offers state-of-the-art rooms with high speed internet access. The location is handy too, just on the edge of the old town within walking distance of most of the main points of interest.
Grand Palace
Regarded by many as the finest hotel in Riga, the Grand Palace is a supremely enjoyable place to stay. It manages to conjure up an old world feeling of luxury and decadence whilst at the same time staying ahead of the game with Wi-Fi now available in all guest rooms. Slick service, a sauna and gym help complete the impressive picture of perhaps the best hotel in the country. First class.
Hotel Bergs
When it first opened it was ranked by Condé Nast as one of the world's best boutique hotels and this slick operation in the new town is indeed impressive, both in terms of the designer décor and the seamlessly smooth service. It is easy to see why this Riga hotel has won so many awards. Still one of the most fashionable places to stay in the Latvian capital, with the excellent Bergs restaurant on site too.
Hotel Kolonna Riga
This attractive boutique hotel in Riga is located in an old merchant's house that has its origins back in the 14th-century. Its location is excellent right in the city centre. Rooms are modern and light; some also have impressive oak beams which add a touch of character. The Penthouse Rooms have views over the Old Town.
Konventa Seta
An atmospheric Riga hotel that is laid out in a ramble of historic old convent buildings in the heart of the old town, which offers excellent value. This 141-room accommodation may only have a three star rating, but guest rooms are bright and comfortable with most mod cons. Highly recommended.
Radisson SAS Daugava
The free airport transfer helps make up for the location on the opposite bank of the River Daugava from almost everything you will want to see and do. The views of the old town are superb across the water. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available for all guests.
Reval Hotel Ridzene
An old Soviet-era building in the new town that has been impressively reinvented as a classy Riga hotel. Modern and comfortable rooms come with all the business trappings and the hotel's staff are also suitably switched on. The sauna, with its views over the city, is the perfect place to relax after a day's sightseeing.
