Cheap (up to €100)
These Salzburg hotel rates are for a double room per night and include all taxes and breakfast.
Arthotel Blaue Gans Salzburg
The Arthotel Blaue Gans Salzburg claims to be the oldest inn on the Getreidegasse with some 650 years of hospitality experience. Though the Blue Goose is steeped in history, it is far from old fashioned. It's modern, innovative and avant-garde art is a major theme throughout the hotel. The location is superb and the hotel restaurant is an old favourite with locals.
Berglandhotel
About 10 minutes' walk from the Old Town is Berglandhotel, a small pension/hotel with both a warm interior and welcome. Rooms are bright, airy and comfortable, and are largely filled with typical Austrian furniture, while bathrooms are thoroughly modern.
Haus Wartenberg
Housed in a 400-year-old building and furnished with antiques and homey bric-a-brac, Haus Wartenberg exudes plenty of character and charm. Rooms are snug and cosy rather than spacious, but that only adds to the warmth of the place. It's within walking distance of Salzburg's Old Town.
Hotel Goldener Hirsch
The hotel of choice for celebrities and royalty over the years, the Goldener Hirsch (the Golden Stag) is a Salzburg institution. Highly exclusive yet exuding genuine hospitality, the hotel has a unique old-world atmosphere combining the rustic with the luxurious. The hotel boasts two superb restaurants and a wonderfully decorated bar.
Wolf-Dietrich Hotel
The Wolf-Dietrich Hotel comprises the Altstadthotel and the Residenz, two houses that face each other near the city centre. In addition to being a very comfortable hotel, it is also a healthy and environmentally friendly one, being powered only by green electricity, serving organic food in the restaurant and incorporating Feng Shui into the design.
