Weather for San Jose

Best time to visit:

San José has two seasons, verano (literally “summer,” but better translated as “dry season”) from December through May, and invierno (“winter,” or rainy season) running June to November.

Rain is heaviest in September and October, when flooding can be a real problem. Prices rise and rooms fill in dry season, so plan ahead. Note that it’s always cool in San José and the Central Valley, so pack long pants and a light jacket if you plan to explore.
