Fairmont Olympic Hotel
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Fairmont Olympic Hotels captures the elegance of a bygone era - without stinting on modern luxuries. Its 450 rooms have cosy furnishings with excellent amenities, and the service is impeccable. This Seattle hotel, built in 1924, also has a sumptuous health club with indoor pool, whirlpool, saunas and massage room. Other features include two superb restaurants - the formal The Georgian and Shuckers. It's located in the heart of Seattle's entertainment district.
Grand Hyatt Seattle
One of the best-known luxury hotels in Seattle located near the Convention Center and other major attractions downtown. The technologically savvy hotel has high-speed internet access, in-room digital concierges and internet workstations throughout the building. But off-time relaxation has also been given close attention, with many rooms overlooking Puget Sound and the Cascade and Olympic Mountains. All rooms have over-sized bathrooms and the beds come complete with feather pillows. Impressive original artwork decorates all 30 floors and Willem de Kooning's Reclining Figure marks the entrance.
Hotel 1000
This stylish 120-room boutique Seattle hotel has earned many fans for its artfully designed rooms and excellent service. Spacious rooms feature cherry wood wardrobes, huge flat-screen TVs, large granite work surfaces and elegant bathrooms with two-person pedestal tubs with water that pours from the ceiling. Panoramic views of the waterfront or Mt Rainier add to the appeal. Relax at the Spaahh, workout at the Fitness Zone, or play a round of virtual golf at the Golf Experience.
Seattle Sheraton Hotel
The largest hotel in Seattle has 1,258 guest rooms, all equipped with plush duvets and comfy beds, high-speed internet access, safes and Starbucks coffee. Club Level and Towers rooms on the top five floors are larger and have excellent views, as well as concierge service and complimentary continental breakfast. The health club on the 35th floor offers some of the best views of the city.
Sorrento Hotel
Tucked away on top of Capitol Hill, the Sorrento Hotel is Seattle's oldest luxury hotel. It prides itself on first-class service and old-school opulence with white marble bathrooms, plush old-style furnishings, high-speed internet access, fresh Starbucks coffee for brewing, and ‘mood music' compilation CDs. The Fireside Room, decadently kitted out in Honduran mahogany, is a tea room by day and live music and arts space by night. A complimentary hotel car and driver is provided to chauffeur guests to their in-town destinations.
Doubletree Arctic Club Hotel
The Doubletree Arctic Club Hotel is set in an historic early 1900s building that was beautifully restored in 2008. Handsomely furnished rooms boast modern amenities, including high-speed internet access, flat panel HD TVs, and luxurious beds, and there's wireless access in common areas throughout the hotel. Some rooms have whirlpool tubs and terraces. The location, a short walk to Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market, is excellent.
Gaslight Inn
This turn-of-the-century Seattle mansion has been lovingly restored and is now a nine-room, seven-suite bed and breakfast, combining period detail and the comforts of modernity. A large living room and library on the ground floor retain original oak panelling and fireplace fixtures. Each guest room is different. There is also a heated swimming pool in the private gardens. The hotel has three rooms with a shared bathroom, which are substantially cheaper than en suite options.
