Shopping in Siena
Siena is an excellent city for shopping as it not only boasts several shops selling designer clothing.
A shop that sells traditional hand-made items like jumpers and hats is Tessuti a Mano, Via San Pietro.
There are many workshops, where artisans produce high-quality crafts. These include Ceramiche di Santa Caterina, Via di Citta 74-76, for ceramics and Vetrate Artistiche, Via della Galluzza for stained glass. A good selection of Tuscan food and wine can be found at Drogheria Manganelli, Via di Citta 71-73, a former pharmacy that still has the original wooden fittings.
The main shopping streets are Via Banchi di Sopra, especially good for clothes shops, and Via di Citta, which has souvenir and food shops.
Shops generally open Monday to Saturday 0930-1300 and 1500-1900, although many close on Monday morning.
