Hotels in Mallorca
Hotels:
The majority of visitors stay in 3- and 4-star hotels. Hotels graded below this are rare, though there is a handful of pensiones and hostels in Palma which cater for budget travellers. Increasingly hotels are upgrading and there are now several 5-star hotels on the island. Most sizeable hotels and apartments in the resorts tend to be block-booked by package tour operators.
Camping:
This is not a popular option (largely due to the availability of cheap accommodation elsewhere) but there are campsites at San Pedro, near Artá and at Platja de Muro, near Alcudia.
Other accommodation:
The Spanish Youth Hostel Network (REAJ) offers two youth hostels, in Palma and Alcudia.
Another sector which is growing in popularity is agroturismo/turismo rural (rural tourism) accommodation, typically renovated older properties set in rural locations.
