Hotels in Split
Gone are the days when there were just a handful of hotels in Split. Over the last decade the local hotel scene has blossomed, though many can still be totally full in summer. Book in advance to find well-located, cheap hotels in Split.
The Split hotels below have been grouped into three pricing categories:
Luxury (over 1,200HRK)
Moderate (600HRK to 1,200HRK)
Cheap (Under 600HRK)

Atrium Hotel
One of a wave of new luxury hotels in Split that have emerged over the past couple of years, Atrium Hotel lies on the edge of the centre, but is handily located for the airport. Its stylish, modern rooms come with all mod cons and are geared towards the business crowd. The swimming pool has views over the city, while the hot tub is the place to relax at the end of the day.
Hotel Vestibul Palace
This small but chic boutique hotel in Split lies within the palace walls in a historic building that dates back to 1890. Close to the cathedral, the location could not be better on the second tier of the palace. The Split hotel has seven luxurious rooms and suites, a bar and an upscale restaurant that serves refined Dalmatian cooking and boasts an outdoor terrace.
Le Méridien Lav
When it opened in 2006, Le Méridien Lav brought first-class accommodation to Split despite its location south of the city centre. This 381-room resort hotel boasts top-notch bars, restaurants and leisure facilities that more than reward the 15-minute taxi/shuttle bus ride to/from Split. Great rates are often available online. The on-site marina is another plus.
Hotel Adriana
Hotel Adriana is ideal for those looking to really be in the heart of the Split action. With a perfect location on the Riva waterfront, guests can wake to the smell of the Adriatic and watch the street life on the lifeblood Riva slowly kick into life. Rooms are comfortable rather than luxurious. Extras include the decent on-site restaurant and the café/bar downstairs out on the Riva, one of the most popular on this pedestrianised boulevard.
Hotel Park
Housed in a smart 1920s building, this upmarket Split hotel reclines on a palm-lined terrace overlooking Bačvice Bay. It has 54 rooms, a fine-dining restaurant and a small health club. A favourite of visiting Croatian business people, but it is also ideal for leisure visitors with direct access to the sands of Bačvice.
Hotel Peristil
Within the palace walls, behind the cathedral, this characterful boutique hotel has 12 quite basic but comfortable rooms. Exposed brick walls in some rooms and Old Town views (including some rooms with views of the cathedral bell tower) are just some of the unique in-room features. Pick rooms 204 or 304 if you want to caress exposed stones of the 1,700-year-old Roman palace at no extra cost. Another one of the hotel's finest features is Tifani Restaurant on the ground floor, serving excellent fish is excellent in a charming décor - check out the toilets for more exposed Roman stonework.
Hotel B&B Kastel
A real rarity - a great value option within the palace walls. Guests at this super convenient Split hotel can choose from singles, doubles and triples, as well as one- and two-bedroom apartments and their ‘4 Star Luxury Suite’. Some rooms even have good views out over the Riva towards Split’s busy port and the offshore islands.
Hotel Slavija
The owners claim that the Slavija is the oldest hotel in Split and it may well be. A recent makeover has really improved things and the location is second to none right in the heart of the palace surrounded by bars and restaurants. There are 25 rooms with singles, doubles and triples available. Rooms are clean and comfortable though the noise from the nearby bars could disturb some guests.
Villa Varoš
One of the few accommodation options in the warren of old streets that comprises the historic Varoš district on the edge of Split’s city centre. It is also one of the cheapest hotels in Split with singles, doubles and a couple of apartments that come with their own kitchens. The owners call it an ‘inn’ and there is a simple on-site eatery with a terrace that serves up a mean pizza.
