Fjord-fishing

The waters off Stavanger are rich in fish, and several tour companies offer all-inclusive fjord-fishing trips throughout summer. They can’t, of course, guarantee you’ll catch anything, but chances are high.

Mountain climbing

The mountain peaks shadowing the Lysefjord offer some spectacular climbing, most famously to the Kjeragbolten, a hunk of rock jammed dramatically between sheer walls high up above the water. Several operators offer guided mountain climbs – the tourist office has the details.
