Toulouse Nightlife
The city’s student population puts the life into nightlife in Toulouse, even if glamour and cutting edge get less of a look-in. Toulouse’s world-leading aerospace industry gives the city a cosmopolitan feel, but don’t worry, there’s still plenty of France to be found.
You can find up-to-date listings about cultural events in Toulouse online at www.box.fr or on the tourist office website (www.toulouse-tourisme.com).
Bars in Toulouse
If you’re really missing home, then step into the British-themed world of the Frog & Rosbif. It’s actually popular with locals too (and not just the expat crowd). The Frog & Rosbif prides itself on its wide selection of beer and, of course, it serves up a dose of the English language if you feel like you need a break. There’s a down-to-earth feel to the place and it regularly broadcasts live sporting events.

This stylish wine bar also serves up tapas, making it a great place in Toulouse to either start or finish your evening. Le Saint Jérôme serves wine by the glass as well as stocking wine from all over the world (rather than only from France). While wine bottles glow on the bookshelves, you can also pick up one of those classical French inventions: the croquet-monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich).

If you’ve seen enough pink bricks for the day, then a drink in the cool, sleek Wallace Café will revive you. Its central Toulouse location and staggering distance to the taxi rank are other plus points. Tall white chairs replace bar stools and red lampshades hang from the ceiling. Cocktails include mojitos but prices aren’t cheap. There’s a selection of tapas available in the evening.

Labelling itself as the club for those in the 25-30 age range, you can find all the top hits here at Le Royal’s. The club hosts themed ‘after-work’ parties as well as nights for enterrement de vie, which literally translates as “burial of life” but actually describes stag and hen dos. Nice. Tapas and early evening menu packages are available.
