Getting around in Tuvalu
The only airstrip is at Funafuti. There is no internal air service.
There are a few roads, constructed from impacted coral, and several dirt tracks that span the islands.
The usual forms of transport on the islands are small pickup trucks, motorcycles and bicycles, which can be hired at the hotel.
There are taxis, but limited transport service is also provided by privately operated minibuses.
The islands are served by a passenger and cargo vessel based at Funafuti, which occasionally calls at Suva (Fiji).
