Getting Around Guernsey
There are many car hire companies available on Guernsey, with rates that compare favourably with the UK. There is an unlimited mileage allowance. Coach hire for large parties is also available.
Bicycle hire is available from various firms for daily or weekly hire.
As in mainland United Kingdom, driving is on the left on Guernsey's quiet roads, which meander around the island. The maximum speed is 56kph (35mph) (and often lower). You have to be 20 years or older to hire a car.Parking is free, although time limits are imposed. If these are exceeded, fines are levied.
A full national driving licence is required.
It is possible to charter a yacht or motor boat to sail around the island. There are also numerous sailing clubs. Ferries zip from Guernsey to other nearby islands, including Sark and Herm.
