Hotels in Jersey
There are many hotels in Jersey and the official consumer information pack, compiled by the Jersey Hospitality Association, is available from Jersey Tourism.
Grading: Hotels in Jersey are graded from 1 to 5 stars and guest houses are graded from 1 to 4 diamonds. All hotels in Jersey are inspected and graded annually.
There are more than 200 guest houses in Jersey, some offering bed, breakfast and evening meals, others just bed and breakfast. Despite the large number of establishments, advance booking is recommended as many guest houses in Jersey are not open throughout the whole year.
Camping is only permitted on the handful of recognised campsites in Jersey. Owing to limited capacity, advance booking is essential. There are no caravan sites on Jersey.
There is limited self-catering accommodation in Jersey registered with the Tourism Department. Premises taking fewer than six people do not have to register and are not inspected. This type of accommodation in Jersey is available through a number of handling agents. Furnished flats, bungalows, chalets and villas are not generally available, owing to the acute shortage of housing for permanent residents.
Jersey has one youth hostel, recently opened in a Victorian schoolbuilding in St Martin.
