London Heathrow Airport Guide (LHR)
Here you'll find essential information on London Heathrow Airport, including contact details, airport transfer facts, details of airport facilities, and how to get there.
Terminal 2, which is currently closed for a complete reconstruction, is scheduled to be completed in 2014. It will then be Heathrow's main hub for Star Alliance operators. A temporary terminal building has been built for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, for use solely by athletes. Plans are also in place to reconstruct Terminal 1 by 2019.
Information desks are located in the arrivals areas of Terminals 1, 4 and 5, as well as in the check-in area of Terminal 3. Help points, equipped with airport maps and courtesy telephones, are located throughout the terminals and car parks.
Terminals 1 and 3 are within walking distance of each other, via underground walkways. Transfers between Terminals 1 and 3, and Terminals 4 (journey time: 8 minutes) and 5 (journey time: 12 minutes), which are located on the south and west sides of the airport respectively, are free on the Heathrow Express train or shuttle bus.
Terminals 1 and 3 can be reached via M4 (junction 4), M25 (junction 15), and A4. Terminal 4 is reached via the A30 and M25 (junction 14). For Terminal 5, exit at junction 14 of the M25 and follow the Western Perimeter Road.
