Here you'll find essential information on Southampton Airport, including contact details, airport transfer facts, details of airport facilities, and how to get there.
A new executive lounge was introduced in 2011, available to all passengers over 18 years of age, for a fee. Airport Ambassadors are now equipped with iPads to help answer passenger queries.
An information desk is available in the main concourse of the terminal building. Roving Airport Ambassadors can provide additional information. A touch screen tourist information point is located next to the information desk. Live flight arrivals information is available on the airport's website.
Southampton Airport is located near the junction of the M3 and the M27 motorways, a short distance from Junction 5 of the M27. The M3 is less than 1.6km (1 mile) away from the airport, providing fast routes to Basingstoke and London, and via the A33/A34 to Oxford and the Midlands. Southampton Airport is 32km (20 miles) from Portsmouth and 14km (9 miles) from Winchester.
Public Transport
Rail: Southampton Airport is next to Southampton Airport Parkway Train Station and boasts one of the fastest 'plane to train' connections of any European airport. Trains connect the airport to Southampton city centre in eight minutes. Three trains depart every hour for London Waterloo, and fast links exist to other destinations, including Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Oxford and Winchester. For further information contact National Rail enquiries (tel: 0845 748 4950; www.nationalrail.co.uk), South West Trains (tel: 0845 6000 650; www.southwesttrains.co.uk), CrossCounty (tel: 0844 811 0124; www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk), First Great Western (tel: 08457 000 125; www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk) or Southern Railway (tel: 08451 272 920; www.southernrailway.com).
Bus: Bus U1C departs from Southampton Airport to Southampton University, the city centre and the ferry terminal, every 15 minutes during the week and every 20 minutes at weekends. The U1A bus runs in the opposite direction. The journey time to central Southampton is 35-40 minutes. Contact Uni-link (tel: (023) 8059 5974; www.unilinkbus.co.uk) for further information.
